The Aliens Have Landed: these five UFO sightings made India shiver

Did little green men from a red planet ever visit us? A lot of us believe they did and a lot of us don't. A lot of us believe they still do, but we aren't looking hard enough.

Apparently, ATC at Delhi's international airport are among them. On Friday, the Air Traffic Controller at Delhi airport reportedly sighted an Unidentified Flying Object and alerted the Indian Air Force.

Recently, an Air Vistara pilot too had reported seeing a laser beam out of nowhere as he was about to land.

The excitement comes just in time for another fascinating event - the scheduled date for an Unidentified Flying Object - more accurately Space Junk - to hit the Indian Ocean on November 13. Most likely an abandoned piece of space debris, the object - which has been given the name WTF1190F, was initially believed to be carrying alien life before more prosaic explanations came to be accepted.

But this isn't India's first brush with the concept of alien life. We've had at least 5 previous instances of UFO sightings that generated serious buzz:

01 1951
For seven minutes, the chief aerial officer at the Delhi Flying Club and some other members claimed they saw a metallic cigar-shaped object - about a hundred feet long, hovering in the sky. It looped around a couple of times, and disappeared at great speed.

02 1957
About 800 villagers in Manbhum, which is essentially present-day Purulia district in West Bengal, claimed they saw an object like a flying saucer.

It reportedly stood still for some time about 500 ft above the ground, then the two sides of the object inflated and it soared up into the skies. Sounds like a picture-perfect UFO dream, except for the 800 people 'witnesses'.

03 2007
2007 - Eastern Kolkata had its UFO moment this year when a blurry bright object blazed through the skies. It was even captured on camera. A Times of India report described it as below:

"The object, as shown on a TV channel, seemed to alter its shape from a round object to a triangle and then turned into a straight line. It emitted a bright light that formed a circle - almost a halo - and also radiated a range of colours."

04 2013
The Indian Army reported sightings, this time along the Line of Actual Control with China, somewhere in Demchok, Ladakh area. A report was duly sent to Army headquarters.

Such sightings have often been reported in this region, some even attributed it to Chinese drones though the Chinese naturally denied it. Another pop theory that's done the rounds is the presence of a secret UFO base somewhere along this-high altitude region - a fact that's covered by mutual agreement by both India and China!

05 2014
This one has a slightly more grounded basis. The Chhattisgarh state department of archaeology and culture reportedly discovered ancient cave paintings, almost 10,000 years old, in Bastar. The paintings supposedly depicted alien like figures and UFOs - sketches of little men with antenna, a flying object with three legs et al.

06 BONUS! The film that predicted it all
We've made sci-fi films way before Jadoo was crowned cool by multiplexes. Wahan Ke Log, a 1967 Bollywood film was among the earliest productions to showcase the alien invasion trope to mainstream audiences in India.

Think you've been abducted by aliens? It was probably just sleep paralysis: Psychologist attempts to logically explain 'encounters of the fourth kind'

By Sarah Griffiths for MailOnline12:45 06 Nov 2015

Christopher C French, of Goldsmiths, the University of London, explained in an article for The Psychologist why people may be 'abducted' by aliensSleep paralysis - when the brain is working but the body has yet to catch up - could explain experiences of alien contact that people don't rememberExpert said false memories of close encounters could also be implanted He has also provided explanations for other types of encounters

Agents Mulder and Scully may have said 'the truth is out there' in the X Files, but it may instead be buried inside the brains of people who claim they have been abducted by aliens.

Those who believe they have had a close encounter of the so-called 'fourth kind' may suffer from false memories or sleep paralysis, a psychologist has claimed.

A rare form of the condition, which can involve hallucinations or the feeling of being dragged out of bed, may explain 'alien abductions' that people sincerely believe happened but can't remember.

People who believe they have had a close encounter of the so-called 'fourth kind', in which they believe they have been abducted by aliens, (illustrated) may suffer from false memories or sleep paralysis according to a leading psychologist specialising in paranormal beliefs

Writing for The Psychologist, Christopher C French, of Goldsmiths, the University of London, who specialises in the psychology of paranormal belief and experiences, said there are plausible explanations for why people 'see' flying saucers and think they have been abducted.

He noted that most of the people making these claims are clinically sane, but their belief in life in outer space may influence what they see or feel in strange situations.

In 1961, the alien abduction story of Betty and Barney Hill captured the public's imagination.

In 1961, the alien abduction story of Betty and Barney Hill (pictured) captured the public's imagination. They claimed to have spotted a UFO driving from Montreal to New Hampshire and arrived home later than expected, unable to account for the previous two hours

Afterwards, Betty said she dreamt she was medically examined by aliens aboard their spaceship. Years later, when the couple saw psychiatrist Dr Benjamin Simon about marital problems, the revisited the 'events' of the night through hypnotic regression. A signpost showing the site of the 'abduction' is pictured

THE SLEEP PARALYSIS THEORY

Some individuals believe they have experienced alien contact but don't remember.

For example, a person may have 'seen' a UFO then after having a 'missing time' experience, notices bruising on their body.

These are sometimes known as 'bedroom invader' incidents and they may be explained by sleep paralysis - the temporary inability to move for a few seconds just as you are about to fall asleep or wake up.

While this is relatively common and a bit disconcerting, some people suffer from rare forms, which cause them to 'feel' an evil presence or hallucinate by seeing lights or grotesque faces, hearing voices and feeling like they're being dragged out of bed.

Scientists have a relatively good understanding on why sleep paralysis is caused, Fr French explains.

During deep, or rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which is associated with dreaming, the body's muscles are paralysed, perhaps to stop people acting out their dreams.

Sleep paralysis is caused when the mechanisms controlling the sleep cycle go wrong so it's as if the brain is working and the body has yet to catch up.

This means creepy imagery, perhaps involving aliens, creeps through into a person's wakeful consciousness, perhaps inducing terror or a belief in abduction.

Afterwards, Betty said she dreamt she was medically examined by aliens aboard their spaceship.

Years later, when the couple saw psychiatrist Dr Benjamin Simon about marital problems, they revisited the 'events' of the night through hypnotic regression.

It is now accepted the technique is likely to result in false memories, instead of recovering true ones.

While of course some people may deliberately fabricate stories and hoaxes, Dr French explained there is a growing body of evidence to suggest some people do suffer from false memories.

A 2003 study showed that dissociativity - detachment from immediate surroundings, - absorption and fantasy-proneness, correlate with susceptibility to suffer from false memories, and the tendency to report paranormal experiences.

As the name suggests, having a so-called 'fantasy-prone personality' (FPP) makes a person more likely to have an 'overactive imagination' or 'live in a dream world'.

This means they can have difficulty differentiating between fantasy and reality and may experience hallucinations.

More recent research suggested people claiming to have had a close encounter with an alien tend to score more highly when it comes to fantasy proneness than 'control' people.

Some individuals believe they have experienced alien contact but don't remember it.

Some experts believe some 'abductions' that a claimant cant remember may be caused by a rare form of sleep paralysis (illustrated with a stock image), when strange imagery, perhaps involving aliens, creeps through into a person's wakeful consciousness, perhaps inducing terror or a belief in abduction

...BUT WHAT ABOUT OTHER KINDS OF CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

You'll have heard about 'close encounters of the third kind' thanks to the famous film, but there are actually four types of alien encounters, according to US astronomer J Allen Hynek's classification system.

A close encounter of the first kind is a sighting of a UFO with no supporting evidence. Dr French says 95 per cent are misidentified for no reason, often in poor visibility and people's belief systems dictate what they 'see'.

The second kind refers to a sighting with 'evidence' such as a photo or readings, but they are usually down to hoaxes or human error, such as misinterpreting readings.

The third kind refers to direct contact between aliens and humans. These are usually not taken seriously and tend to be hoaxes sometimes used to raise issues such as the dangers of nuclear war or global warming.

A close encounter of the fourth kind describes an alien 'abduction'. Dr French says hypnotic regression therapy may be responsible for planting false memories in people's brains.

Or sleep paralysis may explain 'bedroom invader' incidents where people wake in the night to see aliens in their bedroom and experience an abduction.

Scientists have a relatively good understanding on why sleep paralysis is caused, Dr French explains.

During deep, or rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which is associated with dreaming, the body's muscles are paralysed, perhaps to stop people acting out their dreams.

Sleep paralysis is caused when the mechanisms controlling the sleep cycle are affected so it's as if the brain is working and the body has yet to catch up.

This means strange imagery, perhaps involving aliens, creeps through into a person's wakeful consciousness, perhaps inducing terror or a belief in abduction.

However, Dr French notes we should be wary of proposing a 'one size fits all' explanation for covering what people think of as alien abductions.

Nigel Watson author of the UFO investigations Manual told, MailOnline: 'The sleep paralysis theory is good for explaining what are called 'bedroom invader' incidents, where people wake in the night to see aliens in their bedroom and experience an abduction.

'It is harder to explain abductions experienced by people who are driving in their car at night or in other circumstances.'

He believes there are four reasons for abduction experiences, which interact and overlap with each other.

'A trigger event that could be a misinterpretation of a celestial or aerial object, geomagnetic phenomena, illusion or hallucination,' he explained.

Dr French notes we should be wary of proposing a 'one size fits all' explanation for covering what people think of as alien abductions. A stock image of a UFO is shown above

'The 'observation' or experience can be due to neurosis or other pathological states of mind, abuse, trauma, stress, sleep paralysis, drugs, sensory deprivation, lack of sleep, dreams, trance states and other psychological factors.'

Alternatively, he said an abduction story can simply be a hoax or invention, or the outcome of hypnotic regression techniques.

He noted: 'The resulting abduction story is told in terms of the UFO mythology, derived from science fiction films and popular culture.

Alien First Contact May Be With Robotic Emissaries, 6th Nov, 2015

Alien First Contact May Be With Robotic Emissaries
November 06, 2015

Alien civilizations may not wish to make contact with us in person, but send highly advanced robots to do so instead, a leading expert told Coast to Coast AM.

The senior astronomer at SETI (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Seth Shostak told C2Cthat advanced extraterrestrial civilizations may not wish to make first contact with humans up close and personal.

Instead of a firm handshake, as an alternative, highly advanced aliens may launch "sophisticated computers" or robot probes as proxy emissaries to gather data from across the interstellar void.

According to Shostak, these aliens may not even be all that interested in us nor have the capabilities to traverse the vastness of deep space.

"That even applies to us," Shostak said.

"There was a conference here last weekend in Silicon Valley called the 100 Year Starship Conference," he elaborated, saying that within the next century, they would build "a rocket that could go to the stars".

Despite the ambitious proposal, critical difficulties may arise on such a voyage that could endanger the lives of the astronauts.

"Our sensor technology is advancing so much faster than our rocket technology," Shostak said. "Maybe the thing to do is don't put people in the rocket. They're very difficult to keep alive."

"Just send a lot of instrumentation. Send the robots and have the robots send back lots and lots of pictures. Then you can go there without actually going there."

In the meantime, SETI continues to scan the stars for a signal or message originating from deep space. And, if such a message is detected, Shostak revealed there is no "hot line" to immediately report their findings to the government.

"There are no rules that they tell us what to do if we found a signal," he said, adding that SETI is "a private, non-profit organization" – answerable to no one.

If they do receive a possible transmission, the first thing SETI would probably do, Shostak said, is to contact "another radio observatory and have them check out the signal" to confirm the findings, he said.

"And our experience in the past when we found signals that looked interesting is that the media starts calling us right away. There's no secrecy."

HEBER, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) - On Nov. 5, 1975, an Arizona man was allegedly abducted by aliens.

It's been 40 years since that event that has captivated millions for decades. This is the story of Travis Walton. Walton was working with a logging crew that was on its way home.

While driving through the Apache-Stigreaves National Forest, the crew spotted a strange light and some kind of craft hovering overhead. Walton said he approached the craft, a beam of light struck him and he fell unconscious.

Walton claims he woke up on a table inside some kind of alien craft surrounded by aliens.

Former Area 51 Employee Gets A Hand Taking On The Feds

Ailing ex-Area 51 worker gets help fighting feds

Former Area 51 worker Fred Dunham holds up a photograph while standing in his home Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, that depicts himself, standing at left, with several of his coworkers in 1988. Due to Dunham‘s lawsuit, former workers or their survivors, stand to receive about $150,000 in compensation plus money for medical costs for illness that have been linked to their exposure to toxic or radioactive materials at the classified installation. Area 51

A Florida woman who has battled federal agencies over their denials of compensation claims for sick Cold War workers who were exposed to toxic substances has gone to bat for a former Area 51 worker from Las Vegas.

Donna Hand of Tampa said the Labor Department should reopen Fred Dunham's claim and those of about 50 other workers at Area 51, the once-secret U.S. Air Force test installation 90 miles north of Las Vegas.

Dunham worked as a security guard at Area 51 in the 1980s. The installation where the Air Force secretly tested high-tech military aircraft generated a mystique among UFO enthusiasts and conspiracy theorists. It also played big parts in several popular science fiction movies, including "Independence Day," which came out in 1996, and "Paul" in 2011.

Hand, a workers advocate and authorized representative for Dunham, 64, said the Labor Department wrongly relied on a Department of Energy contractor employee's opinion "not based on any material facts" that Dunham's employer, EG&G Special Projects, was a Defense Department subcontractor not covered by the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Act.

A spokesman for DOE contractor National Security Technologies said Friday the employee that Hand mentioned had nothing to do with the Labor Department's decisions to deny claims.

Hand contends that recently declassified CIA documents and a memorandum of understanding between the departments of Energy and Defense about land use and operation of Area 51 and Area 13 — where dioxin-laced coatings for stealth aircraft were burned in open pits adjacent to the Nevada Test Site — confirm that EG&G Special Projects is on the list of contractors approved for the compensation program.

In an Oct. 15 letter to Labor Secretary Thomas Perez, Hand said that she received a copy of Dunham's file on Oct. 8, and in the file "was documentation that EG&G Special (Projects) was a DOE contractor confirmed" by a DOE Nevada Operations Office official and a claims examiner in 2007.

"In the interest of justice, reopen all EG&G Special (Projects) employees claims" and issue decisions within 60 days, Hand wrote to Perez and other federal officials who oversee the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation program.

They "did not review the file, correct the employment, and (have) denied Mr. Dunham's claim without substantial evidence," her letter to Perez said.

A Labor Department spokesman in San Francisco had no comment on the letter Friday. He referred questions about it from the Las Vegas Review-Journal to department officials in Washington, D.C.

Hand said if the Labor Department doesn't reopen all EG&G Special Projects claims for recommended decisions in 60 days, they will be included in a Cold War worker compensation case about her late father that is before the U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Circuit. Her father, Leon Joel Hand, died of a form of leukemia. He worked for a company that extracted uranium from phosphate for the nuclear weapons complex from the 1960s to the 1980s.

Dunham said when he worked at Area 51, excess stealth coating material from the F-117A Nighthawk program was routinely burned in open pits in violation of environmental laws.

He now suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He blames his health problems on not only inhaling toxic fumes from the burn pits but also on a nuclear weapons test, Mighty Oak, at the former Nevada Test Site, which is now called the Nevada National Security Site. Area 51 is adjacent to the northeast corner of the security site.

Dunham said he was outside when the Mighty Oak test "blew the doors off a tunnel" seven miles from where he was standing.

While Department of Energy workers exposed to radioactive or toxic materials at the test site have been awarded single payments of $150,000 or more each for illnesses linked to their jobs, Area 51 workers have been denied compensation.

Dunham and his co-workers were issued Department of Energy access badges for the test site, yet their claims under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation program have been routinely denied.

"We were all on the same team," he said Friday. "It was a joint operation between DOD and DOE. I hope the government will wake up and do the correct thing based on what the truth is."

Mysterious objects fell from space around the world on Nov 3  and its caused a lot of confusion. Round hollow objects found in Spain and Turkey have been recovered and handed over to military authorities.

The hollowness of the objects makes them appear to be normal tanks...say of a rocket or propulsion system, but let me explain why its not. I believe these are cloud orbs otherwise known as alien drones that were struck by lightning or shot down. Alien tech does not usually have wires and loose circuits like our tech has. Alien tech is on a micro scale and is built into the metal of the craft itself. Much like a 3d printer printing the wires inside of a toy robot so when its finished all you do is add the batteries. Alien tech has it all build in, except for their propulsion system.

I found this really cool looking cat-like creature. I call it a lion, but I am sure it was something else...an animal that once roamed on Mars. The creature has a big smile on its face, with a pronounced nose and two eyes. The animals tail is raised as if happy or alert. This is a statue, or a living creature that was turned to stone.
