Belgian UFO Wave

Belgian UFO wave

On November 29, 1989, Belgium citizens, including several large groups of people and three groups of police officers, reported seeing a large triangular shaped craft flying at low altitude over the Belgium countryside. The reported UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) was flat with bright lights underneath that changed colors (red, green, and yellow). The object flew low to the ground without making a sound. Cross checking the various reports revealed that the object travelled from the town of Liege towards the borders of Germany and the Netherlands. Before the night was over, the object would be sighted by over 1,500 people on the ground resulting in seventy different police reports and would trigger a military response from the Belgium military.

Air Shuttle 5959 and Mesaba 3179 - two airlines simultaneously report disc-shaped UFO over Michigan (February 28, 1996)

On February 28, 1996 at 12:50 AM, during a time when an abundance of UFOs were being reported over America’s Midwest region, two commercial aircraft, Air Shuttle 5959 and Mesaba Airlines flight 3179, simultaneously reported seeing an unidentifiable flying object hovering in the night sky over Detroit, Michigan. The conversation between the two airline pilots and the Cleveland control tower was recorded and revealed that pilot and crew from each aircraft both described seeing a large, brightly-lit, pulsating, disc-shaped UFO hovering in the sky. The incident was never openly covered in the public press and remained relatively unknown for many years afterward. Photographs taken of the object have never surfaced.

The Allagash Waterway Abduction

Most alien abductions stories, whether they remain credible or not, usually are missing an important element to tie it all together: witnesses. This famous case from 1976 involved four men who claimed to experience the same abduction, a secret they almost took to their graves.

The men were fishing in a canoe in northern Maine when they saw a gleaming UFO with an 80-foot diameter and changing red, yellow and green colors. According to the men, the UFO swooped down and beamed them up with their canoe in a blinding light. They came to several hours later not remembering anything after their abduction, but began to have frightening nightmares. They all underwent hypnosis and revealed their kidnappers were not from Earth. All of the men also took lie detector tests about their claims and passed.

The Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Abduction

The Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Abduction

One of the stranger alien abduction cases came to light fairly recent and became famous because the person making the claim was a very high ranking official. This former longtime head of the Region of Kalmykia in Russia, noted for his love of chess and efforts to make his region a prime locale for championship tournaments, claimed on a talk show in 2010 that 13 years earlier, he had been abducted by space beings. He described the craft as a “semi-transparent half tube” occupied by “human-like creatures in yellow spacesuits.” Even stranger, he claims his meetings with the beings weren’t for scientific experiments, but more for a meeting of interstellar minds. To boot, he revealed that aliens are responsible for bring chess to Earth.

The official’s words and claims prompted an investigation into his time as the region’s president to make sure his decisions as a leader weren’t affected by his “interactions” with the aliens. Good luck calling them to testify as character witnesses. Still, we’ve always thought serious chess players seemed a bit off.

The Barney and Betty Hill Abduction

The Barney and Betty Hill Abduction

There may have been cases of alien abductions since the dawn of time (or at least since psychiatric medications became more readily available and potent), but the most famous and first well-documented case goes to this couple of Portsmouth, NH. They claimed in September of 1961 that as they were driving home from Montreal, Canada, a bright light jutted out of the nighttime sky on a dark road. As the light approached them, they could see “bipedal humanoid creatures” looking out of the window of the spacecraft. The couple had no memory of the next two hours, but claim they were returned to their car where damages to their clothes and shoes left “evidence” of their spacey encounter.

The incident made the two famous overnight and turned Betty into the nation’s first “UFO Hunter.” The state of New Hampshire also recognized the legend with an official historical marker on the 50th anniversary of the “abduction.

The Betty Andreasson Luca Abduction

The Betty Andreasson Luca Abduction

Alien abduction claims exploded after the Hills’ experience, but the vast majority were easily explained away. However, just a few years later, a woman in Ashburnham, MA, stepped forward to claim she had been taken up by interstellar beings as well. Her case was closely examined by Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) founder and investigator Ray Fowler who had Andreasson undergo hypnosis to verify her claims. She gave chilling details about how the beings were able to immobilize her entire family in order to take her and implant a foreign object in her skull. She said they could talk to her “but not with their mouths.”

The woman even described moments of serene peacefulness, and said the aliens told her the experiments they were conducting were to “prepare for some kind of planetary revelation.” Fowler spent almost a decade examining the case and concluded she was “either the most accomplished liar and actress the world had ever seen, or else she had really gone through this ordeal.

The Antonio Villas Boas Abduction

The Antonio Villas Boas Abduction

One of the earliest studied cases happened in Brazil when a farmer in the 1950s claimed a spacecraft emitting a very bright light landed on his family’s farm. He continued to see the strange object until one night, when it took him and left some disturbing evidence of alien experimentation. The farmer claimed the alien beings brought him on their ship to impregnate a rather fetching-looking female and described everything from the ship to his “suitor” in great detail.

When he returned, he claimed the incident produced symptoms such as nausea, loss of appetite, headaches and even bruising. Investigators have differed on their conclusions, but the differing outcomes only gave it more credibility and notoriety among believers and skeptics alike, especially the believers who are praying for an interstellar hook-up of their own.

The Travis Walton Abduction

1975-The Travis Walton Abduction

The Travis Walton abduction is one of the most controversial cases in Ufology, yet one of the most compelling. The events of Walton's abduction began on November 5, 1975, in the Arizona, Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Walton was one of a seven man crew that was clearing trees on a government contract. After the end of the work day, all of the crew jumped into foreman Mike Roger's pick-up truck and began their trip home.

Many believe some segments of 1940's recreation of Roswell dead alien film are authentic

Many believe some segments of 1940's recreation of Roswell dead alien film are authentic

Ray Santilli’s 1995 Alien Autopsy: Fact of Fiction documentary was long suspected to be a hoax before Santilli came forward and explained that much of the film was a recreation of a 1940’s film that he had seen and eventually purchased.  Although the video was originally presented to the public as an authentic autopsy on the body of an extraterrestrial that was recovered from the crash of a "flying disc" UFO near Roswell, New Mexico on June 2, 1947 (and sold to television networks and broadcast in more than 33 countries as such), Santilli maintained that part of the film did indeed contain actual footage – but never confirmed which part was authentic footage and which was recreated.

According to the video producers, before Santilli could raise enough money to purchase it, the original twenty-two rolls of film (each averaging four minutes in length) that Santilli had viewed in 1992 had degraded beyond the point of usability by heat and humidity.  Santilli stated that he had "restored" the damaged footage by filming (in a London apartment) a simulated autopsy on a fabricated alien, based upon what he saw in 1992, and then adding in a few frames of the original film that were usable.

Because of the large number of people present and the difference in wounds (vs. the wounds shown in the more "clear" video segments that are most certainly post-event recreations), the following film sequence is believed to be the original undamaged (or slightly damaged) fragments of the actual 1940’s film.  I've included post-processing segments (zoomed and slowed) at the end of the video.  Real or hoax, I'm not sure – but it's a pretty creepy (and interesting) scene regardless.

The Aurora Project

The Aurora Project
Government Secret Projects

That the United States government conducts "Black Projects" is no secret. Black projects are projects that are considered top secret. They are so top secret that the government will not even acknowledge that they exist and will hide the budget details of the project or mislead the public by providing false details on the project. The US Military/Industrial complex understandably requires that these projects exist. One reported project is called "Aurora".

Edgar Mitchell, NASA Apollo 14 astronaut, admits insider knowledge that UFOs are real

When big-name scientists, celebrities, or other influential people admit their belief in the UFO phenomena, it’s an eye-opener.  When an astronaut, one that has flown an Apollo mission, says that he has inside knowledge that UFOs and aliens are indeed visitors from other planets, well, it’s jaw dropping.  That’s exactly what happened in 2008 when Edgar Mitchell, of Apollo 14 fame, told Kerrang Radio while on air, “I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomenon is real, although it has been covered up by our governments for quite a long time.”

Boyd Bushman's astonishing Area 51 deathbed confession - ex-Lockheed scientist reveals new alien/UFO photos

Boyd Bushman, who passed away in the summer of 2014, recorded a video shortly before his death in which he talked candidly about his personal experiences at Area 51 and his involvement there with alien technology, alien creatures, and their unique anti-gravity propulsion systems. During the "deathbed" video interview, Bushman produced a plethora of photographs showing the aircraft, alien visitors (dead and alive), and their futuristic technologies while disclosing never-before-told bits of information he gleaned from the unearthly alien visitors.
Who was Boyd Bushman?

Alien Autopsy

Alien Autopsy
Possibly no event in the UFO community has triggered as much debate as the 'alien autopsy' film.  The film, showing a purported autopsy performed on a dead alien from the Roswell, New Mexico crash, offers a unparalleled view into what a real alien could possibly look like.  The film first surfaced in 1995 on a British television talk show.  Later aired on the Fox network in the United States, it garnered an audience of over 10 million people.

The Battle of Los Angeles

The Battle of Los Angeles
Few are aware that 70 years ago there was a historic and widely documented air battle in the Los Angeles skies against an object that to this day, remains unidentified.  Known as The Battle of Los Angeles or The Battle of LA, the true life event was the basis for a 2011 movie of the same name.

On the night of February 24/25, 1942, less than three months after the United States entered World War II, an extraordinary event occurred in the skies of southern California. Known as the Battle of Los Angeles (or The Great Los Angeles Air Raid or The Battle of L.A.), a large number of flares, fires, blinking lights, and a huge UFO appeared in the skies of Los Angeles. As warning sirens sounded the alert, the United States military fought against the objects for several hours. After the dust settled, the military could give no explanation of the “enemy” combatants they had just battled even though hundreds of people witnessed the event and the mysterious object that floated across the Los Angeles sky.

An Attack is imminent

On February 24, naval intelligence put forth the warning that an attack was imminent. At 7:18 PM (Pacific time), just 2 hours later, the alert was lifted and everyone relaxed. But just after midnight on February 25, radars picked up an unidentified target 120 miles west of Los Angeles. At 2:15 AM, antiaircraft batteries were put on “green alert”. They were ready to fire. The target approached L.A. and a few minutes later a blackout was ordered by the 14th Interceptor Command. As Los Angeles went dark, the phone lines were flooded with calls from weary citizens who had seen something in the sky that they could not explain. Reports of “enemy planes” arrived in droves even as the object on radar vanished from the aircraft controllers screens. Other calls came in describing a large “hovering” UFO slowly gliding from Culver City towards Santa Monica.

Objects reported in the skies

The city was blacked out from 2:25 AM until 7:21 AM. The blackout was in effect from Los Angeles to the Mexican border. At 2:43 AM, a large number of planes were reported near Long Beach. At 3:08 AM, radio stations were ordered off the air. Simultaneously, an artillery colonel reported about 25 planes at 12,000 feet over Los Angeles. In addition, a large glowing red object was reported over Santa Monica. Four batteries of anti-aircraft artillery, including the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade, opened fire and the skies of Los Angeles were lit up as 12.8 pound shells were launched into the air. “The air over Los Angeles erupted like a volcano”.

Details on the mysterious objects arrive

Searchlights began scanning the skies over Los Angeles. More reports of “swarms” of planes came in. Sometimes the reports described the objects as balloons and sometimes they were reported as “lights”. Altitudes of the objects ranged from 1,000 feet to over 20,000 feet. The speed of the objects varied too with some being described as moving very slow while others were described as moving over 200 miles per hour. There were even reports of four aircraft being downed and in smothered in flames at a Hollywood intersection.

Residents of the City climbed on roofs and stood in their yards watching the battle. Many described (and photographic evidence exists, see photo above) seeing a large hovering UFO with several military spotlights targeting it at once. Reports indicated that the object was unphased by the barrage of artillery that bombarded it. According to newspaper reports, eyewitnesses described the sight of the UFO like a "surreal, hanging, magic lantern."

“Katie”, who was Air Raid Warden for the LA area, received a call from her Air Raid Supervisor. He notified her of the alert and asked if she could see anything over or near her home. She quickly rushed outside and reported, "it was huge! It was just enormous! And it was practically right over my house. I had never seen anything like it in my life!" she said. "It was just hovering there in the sky and hardly moving at all. It was a lovely pale orange and about the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. I could see it perfectly because it was very close. It was big!"

Others reported, "they sent fighter planes up and I watched them in groups approach it and then turn away. There were shooting at it but it didn't seem to matter. It was like the Fourth of July but much louder. They were firing like crazy but they couldn't touch it. I'll never forget what a magnificent sight it was. Just marvelous. And what a gorgeous color!"

Caught by the searchlights and captured in photographs, was an object large enough to dwarf an apartment house. Experienced lighter-than-air dirigible specialists doubted it could be a Japanese blimp because the Japanese had no known source of helium, and hydrogen was much too dangerous to use under combat conditions.

The battle lasted for several hours as searchlights scanned the skies and anti-aircraft guns rained ammunition into the air (and down onto the City). Much of the firing appeared to come from the vicinity of aircraft plants along the coastal area of Santa Monica, Inglewood, Southwest Los Angeles, and Long Beach.

The primary object that triggered the air raid alarm had drawn 1430 rounds of ammunition from the coast artillery, to no effect. When it moved at all, the object had proceeded at a leisurely pace over the coastal cities between Santa Monica and Long Beach, taking about 30 minutes of actual flight time to move 20 miles; then as suddenly as it appeared, it disappeared from view.

Official explanations

After the event, the conclusions drawn by the various branches of the military differed greatly. The Navy immediately concluded that the event was nothing more than a false alarm. The Army on the other hand, concluded that at least four objects were indeed travelling over the skies of Los Angeles. A newspaper report titled “The Army Says Alarm Real” was released the next day. It said:

Overshadowing a nation-wide maelstrom of rumors and conflicting reports, the Army's Western Defense Command insisted that Los Angeles' early morning blackout and anti-aircraft action were the result of unidentified aircraft sighted over the beach area. In two official statements, issued while Secretary of the Navy Knox in Washington was attributing the activity to a false alarm and "jittery nerves," the command in San Francisco confirmed and reconfirmed the presence over the Southland of unidentified planes. Relayed by the Southern California sector office in Pasadena, the second statement read: "The aircraft which caused the blackout in the Los Angeles area for several hours this a.m. have not been identified." Insistence from official quarters that the alarm was real came as hundreds of thousands of citizens who heard and saw the activity spread countless varying stories of the episode. The spectacular anti-aircraft barrage came after the 14th Interceptor Command ordered the blackout when strange craft were reported over the coastline. Powerful searchlights from countless stations stabbed the sky with brilliant probing fingers while anti-aircraft batteries dotted the heavens with beautiful, if sinister, orange bursts of shrapnel.

The command in San Francisco confirmed and reconfirmed the presence over the Southland of unidentified planes. Relayed by the Southern California sector office in Pasadena, their statement read: "The aircraft which caused the blackout in the Los Angeles area for several hours this a.m. have not been identified." They could not explain what they were but surmised that they were small light aircraft launched from Japanese submarines. Their report was submitted and accepted by the United States War Department. None admitted that any enemy aircraft were shot down and none explained why none had been shot down.

Military leaders that had seen objects in the skies during the battle subsequently changed their stories and instead claimed that what they saw was simply smoke from the anti-aircraft guns. Despite the barrage of American antiaircraft fire, none of these objects were brought down, although several homes and buildings were destroyed, and six civilian deaths were attributed to the barrage. Considering the carnage, the military's explanation was meager. U.S. Navy Secretary Knox even denied that any aircraft had been over the city; he called the incident a false alarm due to war nerves.

The local press, needless to say, did not take this very well. The Long Beach Independent noted that: "There is a mysterious reticence about the whole affair and it appears some form of censorship is trying to halt discussion of the matter." It is noteworthy that for thirty years until the release of the Marshall memorandum, the Department of Defense claimed to have no record of the event. Five years before Roswell, the military was already learning to clamp down on UFOs.

After the conclusion of the war, the Japanese stated that they had not sent any planes over the area at the time of the battle. In 1983, in an explanation eerily reminiscent of the earlier Roswell explanation,  the Office of Air Force History concluded that an analysis of the event laid the blame on weather balloons.  In 2011, a TV show duplicated the event using large spotlights and live ammunition and concluded that the object in the photographs had to have been a solid vehicle of some sort and that a weather balloon would have been easily shot down.

THE UFO CHRONICLES
The Roswell [Flying Saucer] Press Release and Colonel Blanchard

A Different Perspective
9-5-15

I’ve been thinking about this press release issued by Colonel Blanchard that has the skeptics in such turmoil and I must confess worries me a bit as well. There just doesn’t seem to be any logic in it if we start with the premise that they thought they were finding parts of an alien spacecraft on the debris field.

But as I was driving across Nebraska, which is fairly boring, I got to thinking about this and what the press release actually said. The terminology is important and the lack of any real detail is also important. If we look at what was said about what was found on the ranch managed by Mack Brazel and what was seen by Jesse Marcel, Sr. and Sheridan Cavitt, we might be able to figure some of this out.

For those unfamiliar with what the press release said, this is the Associated Press version based on the information supplied by Walter Haut:
Roswell, N.M. – The army air forces here today announced a flying disc had been found on a ranch near Roswell and is in army possession.

The Intelligence office reports that it gained possession of the ‘Dis:’ [sic] through the cooperation of a Roswell rancher and Sheriff George Wilson [sic] of Roswell.
